I guess you meant this comment for the "hardened" photo? :)

Just a close-up macro on which I then selectively boosted the saturation in Photoshop. The gate looks gray in real life, so I was surprised -- and pleased -- when the bluish tone became manifest when I incresed the hues. Never tried this sort of thing before, but I'll guess I'll do it some more since it can be so rewarding. ;)
